Nestled within the fertile hills in the emerging wine region of Paso Robles, California, this boutique winery specializes in varietal wines and in olive oil. The architecture of the building draws upon the residence that was completed earlier by the same design team which is perched far above on the property. The structure is partially buried into the hillside to maintain cool temperatures and the exterior skin is composed of vertical steel panels and cadged stone that was excavated from the site. The program consists of barrel and case good storage, processing and a public wine tasting room that intersects the facility and has views into the barrel area.
