RedLeaf Residence

The RedLeaf Residence lies on a sloping narrow site situated between two roads and was governed in the design process by a tightly regulated homeowners association. The greatest design challenge was in entering the steep site and how the car and entry would work given the topographical hardship. A bridged drive and entry walk was employed and the main level became the entry level with the public functions, the second level down housed the bedrooms and office and the lowest level contained the media room, ‘secret room’, gym, laundry, storage and mechanical systems. The exterior material palate consists of copper roof shingles, dry-stacked stone, stained cedar and clad windows/doors. A detached 1200 square foot guest house lies to the west and the space between is the private landscape. The 8000 square foot project is near Aspen Highlands and was completed in the summer of 2007.
