Christ Episcopal Church

Nicknamed the “Quonset Hut,” for its unique barrel shaped nave, the original Christ Episcopal Church was constructed in Aspen’s Historic West End in 1962. After numerous alterations and minor additions the CEC sought to unify and update the aging, inefficient structure. Using the Church’s modern roots as cues, the new addition is also modern, but differs in form and scale as not to dominate the new building. Studio B's design enhanced the worship and fellowship facilities for the church’s congregation and to provided administrative, hospitality and support spaces for the church staff. This permitted the church to continue its significant contributions to the Aspen community, to minister to its congregation’s spiritual needs and to maintain its long standing identity in Aspen’s West End.
