AABC Fire Station
This 15,500 square foot facility is located at the Aspen Airport Business Center and serves the needs of the expanding neighborhood where development pressure is evident. Because of its proximity to adjacent Highway 82 and the site’s natural drop, the structure appears to be a one-story volume that takes advantage of the site with the actual functions of the fire station on the rear side of the building. It responds contextually to the industrial vocabulary of the business center and its exterior materials include extruded metal louvers, textured masonry block, metal panels, Kalwall windows, and a aluminum storefront window system. It was completed at the end of 2007.
