The Hive 2-1/2

‘The Hive’ project is a collective assemblage of ideas from the crew members of the studio itself. The existing industrial flat-roofed structure offers a plynth to work from and allows the ‘intervention‘ to straddle and intercept it. The dialogue between the existing and proposed presents a commentary regarding the firms work, that the past should not be re-invented, but transformed. The project represents the studio’s horizontal hierarchy where there are no behind the doors decisions and that the space is active, open and multi-dimensional. The program centers on the large conference / charrette space where ideas permeate the entire atelier.
